Safety risks for workers in the utility industry

Personal protection for lone workers in utilities with a
high risk of injury

The utilities sectors, such as water, gas, and electricity, employ a large number of workers who are at high risk of injury. According to the Health & Safety Executive, there were 144 people killed at work from 2015-2016 and a further 611,000 suffered injuries. This resulted in losing 27.3 million working days. The Corporate Manslaughter Act focuses attention on lone workers and a company’s legal and social duty of care to provide staff with safety devices to reduce their working risks from both attack and injury as no-one is immune to accidents.

With our track record working for critical infrastructure customers we are well placed to understand and address the risks faced in the water, gas, telecoms and power sectors.
